He was the son of William B. and Katherine Ross; born in Lawrenceburg IN. Enlisted in the US Marine Corps on December 29, 1917. Trained in Quantico VA, then overseas in 1918. Transferred to 55th Company, 5th Regiment. Killed in action in Belleau Wood, France.
The American Legion Post in Aurora IN is named in his honor.
Cemetery: Lucy le Bois, Grave no. 108, Aisne France.
