American - joined the Ambulance Service - only son of Dr Ernest Howard and Elisabeth L. Lines.

Attended the Sorbonne. Died of pneumonia complicated by meningitis at the front at La Grange aux Bois. He had suffered appendicitis, abdominal injury, chickenpox, and the spanish influenza, all within a few months of his death. His father, mother and sister were given special permission to attend the funeral.
