William Loran Allen, 77, died about 8 o'clock this morning at Memorial Hospital. He resided at 117 Hardy Court, Gulfport. Mr. Allen was a life-time resident of the Coast. He was born in Long Beach on Sept. 2, 1881. He was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by seven children, L. B. Allen, H. E. Allen, C. B. Allen and J. E. Allen, all of Gulfport; Mrs. L. S. Switzer, Biloxi; Mrs. Ray Givins, Bay Town, TX; and Mrs. Irene Nichols, Gulfport; 32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from Riemann's Chapel in Gulfport this afternoon at 5 o'clock to the C. B. Allen residence, 1320 44th Ave. The funeral service will be at the Allen Cemetery, Long Beach, Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.
