Enlisted H Company, 7th Infantry, February 20, 1917. Commissioned First Lieutenant March 28, 1917. Transferred to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 160th Infantry, 40th Division, September 8, 1918. Training at Arcadia, North Island, Chula Vista and Camp Kearney, California. In action at St. Mihiel, Mont Sec, (Toul sector) , and Meuse-Argonne. Wounded October 4, 1918, in right shoulder by portion of high explosive shell. Treated in Evacuation Hospital No. 11 Brizeaux and Bae Hospital No. 23, Vittel, Vosges. Died of bronchial pneumonia, October 20, 1918. Married Mary Ethedrela De Meulle.
