This grave is believed to belong to someone in the McClendon or Childs family as it is right next to Cynthia McClendon Childs and her son William Graves Childs. Or at least someone who died in the same time period of 1888 to 1900.
After she died her husband Rev. William B. Childs, son of Edward Washington Childs, remarried and moved to Kerr Co. He is buried there with his 2nd wife.
Also it could possibly one of the McClendon family as one of her younger sisters, Margaret also married one of her husband's brothers, Charlie C. Childs. Directly on the right side of the grave are George Washington and Amanda Lavilla (McClendon) Koonce, another sister of Cynthia. The grave could also possibly be Amanda (McClendon) Koonce's daughter Martha Eola "Mattie" Koonce as she died in 1903. She was married to Newt Cretsinger.
Another interesting note is in the obituary of Cynthia McClendon Childs, it mentions that she was interred next to a younger brother but his name is not given. According to census records she had a younger brother named Lucein born in 1857 in Bradley County, Arkansas. He, the sister Margaret, and the mother Temperance were all still living in Ochita, Bradley County Arkansas on the 1880 Census. Margaret did come to Texas so it is highly likely that this brother also came to Texas. They moved to Texas in 1880 as that was the year she and Charlie Childs married.
Going by the distance between their graves I feel more certain that it is her brother in the wrought iron fence. The date of death would be about 1885...a few years before Cynthia Childs.
