QUEBE - Brenham, Tex. Jan. 8 (spl)- Leaving nine children, 50 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. August Quebem pioneer of Washington County, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Steiner of Burton. He was 85 years old and was born in Germany, but spent the greater part of his life in and around Burton. Rev. A. Walton, pastor of St. John, Evangelical Churdh of Burton, conducted the funeral services. Surviving children are; Mrs. Joe Steiner of Burton, Mrs. Mary Wittliff of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Louise Fussel and Mrs. Alma Sypatzke of Thrall, Mrs. Sophie Kano of Arizona, Mrs. Emma Synatzke of Thrall, Joe Quebe of Taylor, August Quebe Jr. of Thrall, and Charles Quebe of Burton.
