Son of Samuel and Jane Elliott of Cremorne, New South Wales, Australia.
This is not exactly correct, as his father had died in Dublin in 1928.
Stanley Brown Elliott was born in a Nursing Home at 8 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin, to Samuel Elliott and Jane Elliott, formerly Whitaker, of 138 James's Street, Dublin.
His father was recorded as a Tobacco Manufacturer.
It would appear that following Samuel's death in 1928, Stanley and his mother migrated to Australia, where he was called up at the outbreak of WW2.
He enlisted at Sydney, NSW, Australia, J. Elliott being noted as next-of-kin.
The inscription on the headstone on his father's grave indicates that he was shot down over Gelsenkirchen, and was initially buried at Dortmund.
After the War, many of the bodies of those who were buried locally, were re-interred in a large military cemetery at Reichswald.
Avro Lancaster Bomber ED528 was one of 15 aircraft shot down during a mission on the night of Friday 25 - Satrurday 26 June 1943. The target was an oil refinery at Gelsenkirchen. 4 of the 7 crew were killed. The 3 survivors were taken Prisoners of War.
The crew had been substantially together since this tour of duty commenced on 28 March 1943. This was the 22nd Flight of the tour.

made a suggested edit that the aircraft crashed at the village of Bechtrup, 40km NE of Gelsenkirchen.
Whilst this might be true, the inscription of the family headstone records that he was "Killed over Gelsenkirchen 26 June 1943". Where this information came from is unknown, but it is known that three of the crew survived the crash, and it is possible that the plane was hit by Flak, killing some or all of those onboard. To concur with the inscription, the location of his death has been left at Gelsenkirchen.
