KILLED IN SERVICE
Lt. (jg) Robert Buscher was killed in a plane crash in the South Pacific May 23. Lieutenant Buscher was on his second tour of duty in the South Pacific having previously been stationed there for 11 months with a "Black Widow" squadron. He entered training as a naval cadet immediately after graduation from Indiana State Teachers college in 1942. He received his commission as an ensign in the fall of 1943. While at the college, Lieutenant Buscher was active in basketball, playing forward on the varsity team for three years. He was also a member of Blue Key. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Geneva Buscher, Arcadia, Ind.
