John Donald was the son of Doctor Felton Donald and the former Miss Clora I. Stephens, Rt. 4, Marietta, Georgia (originally from Ball Ground, Georgia). SF3c Donald was one of ten children; 2 daughters and 8 sons.
John was a Crewmember of the USS Oklahoma, and was killed in action on December 7th, 1941.
John's great-grandfather, Alfred Low, was also killed while serving his country; only during the last days of The War of Northern Aggression. Not unlike John, Alfred was "bushwhacked" in a surprise attack by cowardly enemies.
