BARTLETT – Frank W. Banzet, 79, resident of this vicinity most of this life, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 19, 1948 at his home following a lingering illness.
Born Dec. 9, 1868 in Iowa, Mr. Banzet came to Kansas with his parents while still a boy. They settled in the Bartlett vicinity.
He was married to Miss Nora V. Medlin Jan. 1, 1894 in Oswego. They lived in the Indian territory for a short time before moving to Bartlett, where he has made his home since. Mrs. Banzet died in September 1945.
Survivors include: Seven sons, Albert, Ernest and Leonard, Bartlett; Emmett, Edna; Donald, Parsons; Martin, Palisade, Colo., and Ora, Independence; five daughters, Mrs. Minnie McCorkle, Joplin; Mrs. Almond Dewey and Mrs. Dewey Ball, both of Coffeyville; Mrs. Eva Dunham, Palisade, Colo., and Mrs. Marie Collins, Bartlett; two brothers, Charles and Gus Banzet, both of Edna; 43 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Edna Methodist church, but the time has not yet been set, pending the arrival of relatives from a distance. The Rev. Wright Horton will officiate. Burial will be in the North Edna cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Goodwin Funeral Home in Edna, until the day before the funeral with it will be taken to the family home.
