Carl Werner Anderson of Saskatoon was KIA at Iwuy, Nord, France. Carl was the son of Anders Magnus and Anna Stina Bengtsson of Roane, Fjalla, Sweden, and was working as a labourer when he enlisted at Saskatoon late in 1916. Carl was sentenced to 12 months hard labour in Winchester prison (crime unknown) but was released in September on condition he proceed to the front.
