James Ernest Van Fossan, 72, of West Lafayette, died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital.
He was born November 1, 1937 in Potomac, Illinois to the late Ernest "Slim" and Mary Lois Grimes Van Fossan. On March 1, 1958, he married Janet Farrier in Villa Grove, Illinois. She survives.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Sara Jordan, a son, James N. (Patty) Van Fossan, three sisters, Lenora Doss, Frances Crabtree and Linda (Dennis) Goodpasture, two brothers, Rick Van Fossan and Bob (Jduy) Van Fossan and his grandchildren,
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nancy Jean Ward and Carol Jaschke and a great-granddaughter, Alivia Van Fossan.
He served in the U.S. Army.
