Information taken from family Bible now in possession of Phoebe Karr Drumm of Lewiston, Idaho, (as of 1932):
James Dickson Morrison, served in the War of 1812, and was a private under Captain Frederic Shots' Company of Indiana Volunteer Militia, from August 31, 1812 until October 24, 1812 when his service expired. From October 25, 1812 until January 15 , 1813, he was in the United States Army with Captain Joseph Clements, when he was discharged.
He was married to Lydia Lee (b June 21, 1798 in Hardin, Kentucky died Sept 21 1877 somewhere on the Oregon Trail). They had 13 children; Phebe Morrison Nichols 1816-1886; Margaret Morrison Black 1818-1902; Samuel Hans Morrison 1820-1884; Nancy Ann Morrison Turnbaugh 1822-1911; Hugh Homer Morrison 1824-1881; Adam Hamilton Morrison 1826-1881; Mary Ann Morrison Chapman 1828-1920; Maria Isabel Morrison Cadwell 1831-1915; Major Morrison 1833-1852; John Lee Morrison 1836-1921; James Warren Morrison 1841-1910; Abram Washington Morrison 1843-1926; and Thomas Jefferson Morrison 1845-1847.
