Cornelius Bostelaar was the son of Joseph Bostelaar and Nellie Breel. He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He was a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School in 1939 and a former employee of Alabastine Co. He was widely known as a roller skater at Romona Rink. He was inducted into the Army in October 1941 and stationed at Camp Wolters, Texas, and Fort Dix, N.J. He was sent to Ireland in May 1942 and left England for North Africa in December 1942.
He was Killed in Action in North Africa on April 9, 1943.
