Son of Peter and Jane McIntosh Allan nee Harris of 78, Hamilton Road, Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, Scotland.


Part of a seven man crew that took off from RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk at 01:25 on Tuesday 11th April. 1944, in a Avro – Lancaster III S/No. ED808 for a bombing raid on the Marshalling Yards at Laon, Northern France. After take off nothing further was heard and the aircraft was posted as missing, it was later discovered that a night fighter had shot down the plane at Beaurepaire about 23 Miles Northeast of Le Havre.


There were no survivors and only six bodies were ever recovered and they were interred in Saint Sever and Sainte Marie War cemeteries in France, the seventh crew member is commemorated at the RAF Memorial in Runnymede, Surrey, England.
