Today, 29 November 2014 we remember Private Carl Homer "Ike" Harris who served with the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action probably in the german village MERODE (near the castle Merode) because on this day the 26th Inf. Reg. fought there and had a lot of casualty. Private Harris was awarded with the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Finally his grave "gots a face" now. His son William "Bill" Carl Harris sent me this picture of his father Carl Homer Harris some weeks ago and we will stay in contact. R.I.P. Private Harris

my two godparenthoods Private Carl Homer "Ike" Harris on the left and Private First Class William Anthony "Pete" Neudecker - both served in the 1st Infantry Division, Harris 26th Inf. Reg. and Neudecker 16th Inf. Reg - both were Killed in Action in Germany for our all freedom R.I.P.
