Robert was the son of Leonard and Henrietta Taylor of Robbinsdale, Minnesota. His siblings were Marjorie, James, Henrietta Mae, Adline, Albert and Stanley Taylor.

He met Beverly Culp and they took out a marriage license on Sept 20, 1941. Then they were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bob worked at Acme Metal Spinning doing defense work, before joining the army.

He joined the army in World War II and was killed. He is buried in Liege, Belgium at the Henri Chappelle American Cemetery.
