Colan Maitland Marshall was the son of Harry Leroy and Lena May (Johnson) Marshall and stepson of Edward Harding. He was born in Waterbury, Vermont December 30, 1916. He married Marion Barrows November 22, 1941, and he was employed at the Windsor Foundry.
Pfc. Marshall was inducted on June 22, 1943 and had been overseas one year when he died of wounds received in action while serving with the 557th Field artillery Battalion. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was survived by his wife and one year old son, Colan, Jr.; a brother Maurice and a sister Mrs. Ruth Pierce.
