Aldrich served as a Radio Operator/Gunner (B26) in the 441st Bomber Squadron. 320th Bomber Group (Medium).He was Killed in Action in/during when the plane took a direct hit at the bomb bay by FLAK and exploded and Crashed at the Naples train emplacement, on July 17, 1943, and he is honored with a Purple Heart and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster.
