She was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Perugia, Italy, and came to America through Ellis Island at two years of age and settled in Ellwood City. In 1945, she married U.S. Army Air Corps Staff Sergeant, Grant H. Marshall, and after the war, moved to Johnson City, N.Y., where she has resided ever since.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, Grant H. Marshall; her parents, Agostino and Carolina Farinelli, Ellwood City; a sister, Joan Majeski, New Kensington, Pa., and a brother, Joseph Farinelli, Pittsburgh.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Stephen Humphry, Conklin Forks; sons, Grant W. Marshall, Johnson City, and Thomas Marshall, St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandsons, who were the light of her life, Luke and Seth Humphry, Conklin Forks; a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Anthony Sulia, Ellwood City; a sister-in-law, Flora Farinelli, Pittsburgh; five nieces and six nephews and their families, many cousins, dear fiends, Ann and Tony Scott, Leesburg, Fla., and many wonderful friends who were her extended family.

Everyone who knew Mary loved her. She was energetically involved in many areas of service, including being the founding president of Women's Aglow International of Central New York; a leader in Weight Watchers for over 30 years, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Binghamton, for 35 years, serving as a deaconess, altar worker, Sunday School teacher, visitation committee member and greeter. Mary was a beloved speaker and mentor. Her upbeat personality, warmth and friendliness helped and encouraged all who came into contact with her. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed and her memory will live always in our hearts. May God grant her rest where the light of His Countenance shines.

A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. in the First Assembly of God, 255 Washington St., Binghamton, with Senior Pastor Brandon Samuel and Executive Pastor R.E. Piedmonte officiating.

Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.
