According to a telegram received yesterday, Staff Sergeant Emil Paul Ceci, 33 year old son of Mrs. Leonard Ceci, of 5 Clyde Avenue, Joliet, has been killed in action in France.
Besides his mother, he is survived by seven brothers, four of whom are also serving in the United States Army; Corp. Frank J. Ceci, in California; Corp. Henry Ceci, in France; PFC Daniel Ceci, in England; PVT David Ceci, in transit and Edward, Louis and Richard. Also his sister, Louise all of Joliet.
IN ARMY 3 YEARS
Sergeant Ceci entered the United States Army April 22, 1941 and took his training at Camp Livingston, Florida and Camp Picket, Virginia.
He was sent overseas in July 1943 and had been in France about a month.
Sergeant Ceci was a graduate from Washington Grade School. Prior to entering service he was employed at the American Stone Quarry.
A memorial mass will be held for Sgt. Ceci at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning.
