BELOVED MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER:

Born to William and Edna Lundgren, Albany, NY. Mom was of Swedish and Welsh ancestry. Educated in Albany schools. Graduated Albany HS in 1944. On August 20, 1944, married Harold R. Sommers. A housemaker most of her life, she is survived by three children, William Ralph (Linda) Sommers, born 1/28/46, Karen Irene (Perry) LaMountain, born 11/3/49, and Steven Donald Sommers, born 7/16/54. Also survived by three grandchildren, Bryan William Sommers, Jennifer Louise Sommers, and Kimberly Irene Mascord, and four great grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla Sommers and Brenna and Kennedy Mascord.

My mom was chosen as a Navy pin-up queen during WWII (you can see why!). She was a stay-at-home mom, and had a short career with the NYS Department of Tax and Finance before illness made her quit work (from 1968-72).
I can remember mom always playing poker with grandma on Sunday after dinner. She also loved to go and play bingo! My mother was a very talented artist, crossword puzzle whiz, and a great cook. She also loved animals - we always had dogs, cats and she loved parakeets and canaries.

Mom became brain-dead after a bowel obstruction surgery, three days before my daughter's wedding.
