CHAUNCEY, ALICE JANE (HART), (84), of Alabaster, died Sunday March 8, 2009 at a local hospital of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lauretta G. (Roach) Hart and William J. Hart, (Brownsburg, IN); her husband, (Rocky) Roscoe R. Chauncey and her brother, William J. Hart Jr. (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montevallo, AL and enjoyed playing her piano, singing, listening to music, a cup of hot tea, good conversation and visiting with family and friends. Alice Jane was survived by four sons and a daughter, Pat Chauncey, (Cindy) (Buford, GA), Mike Chauncey, (Hoover, AL), Knute Chauncey, (Peggy) (Tyrone, GA), Brian Chauncey (Susan), (Lawrenceville, GA) and Suzanne (Chauncey) Goostree (Bill), (Powder Springs, GA); and nine grandchildren, Kristy (Chauncey) Kilgore, (Kace), Matthew Chauncey, Cory Chauncey, Michael Chauncey Jr., William Chauncey, Kallie Chauncey, Katie Chauncey, Courtney Goostree, and William Goostree, Jr. She had one niece, five nephews and hundreds of cousins located across the US and beyond. Her children and grand children loved her and will forever miss, but never forget, her smiling face, good humor, encouraging words and loving hugs and kisses. Family and friends will celebrate her life at a viewing on Wednesday, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, (I65 & Hwy 119) Pelham, AL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 10 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montevallo. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery (I65 & Hwy 119) in Pelham, AL.
