A butcher by trade, he enlisted in the CEF on 2 Dec 1915 in Wingham, Ontario, Canada, where he was residing at the time.
Son of William and Elizabeth Aitchison of Wingham. Two of his brothers also served.

One of his brothers, Private David Laughlin AITCHISON, was wounded in battle in France; he died on 10 July 1915 in England and was laid to rest in the Ramsgate Cemetery in Kent.

Private Wallace Aitchison is commemorated on Page 189 of Canada's First World War Book of Remembrance.
