Obituary: Roy Cook
April 6, 1916-July 27, 2010

YACHATS - Roy Cook, 94, of Yachats died peacefully Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at his home. A memorial wake was held Saturday, July 31 at his home in Yachats.

Mr. Cook was born April 6, 1916, at Soap Creek near Corvallis to Ernest and Wanda Cook. He attended high school in Portland and two years at Oregon State University.

During World War II he served with the Geodets, a mapping division attached to the Flying Tigers. He was stationed in British Guiana and China.

He was a Pendleton resident for many years.

Mr. Cook is survived by his wife Estle; daughters Susan, Sally, Sandra and Sharon; sons Ronald and Thomas Smith; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and grandson Travis Linsay.

Memorial donations may be made to the Order of the Antelope Scholarship Fund or the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.
