Private Baddon Turnbull Wallace 1st/4th ( Border) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers, was killed in action at Gallipoli on 12th July 1915, aged 22, during the "Charge" on the Turkish trenches at Achi Baba Nullah.
He was the son of David and Mary Wallace of 147 Roxburgh Street, Kelso. He had been born at Kelso, lived in Kelso and had enlisted in the town.
That fateful day became known as the "Black Day of the Borders" because of the 550 casualties. At evening roll call only 70 unwounded men answered.

Gravesite Details
He is commemorated on the family headstone in Kelso Rosebank Cemetery and listed on the Kelso War Memorial in Kelso Abbey Grounds.
