Martin D. Wilton, 61, retired merchant died today at his home at 1000 West Main Street, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Wilton who was born 64 years ago today, February 10, 1880, was the son of the late James C. and Delilah J. Wilton, this city.
Surviving him is his wife, Mrs. Earle H. Wilton, this city; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Hearn and Miss Mary Wilton, both of this city; and Mrs. Kate W. Craig, Meeteetse, Wyo., and also three brothers, H. A. Wilton, Scarbro, W. Va.; R. C. Wilton, Huntington, W. Va.; and C. A. Wilton, Cannelton, W. Va.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12 at 2:30 p.m. from the Etter Funeral home. The body wil be at home until the time of the service.
The Rev. A. McK. Reynolds, minister at Main Street Methodist Church, will conduct the service and interment will be at the River View.
Active pallbearers will be Glenn Hess, Howard Plumb, Luther Baber, Fielder Pitzer, Pete Davis, Jim Davis, Floyd Deadrick, and Perry Sampson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ernest Mosby, Guy Branaman, Emmett Barger, Charlie Plumb, Lee Plumb, Mr. C. Greaver, Charles Alexander, L. A. Obaugh, John Herron, John McCray, J. H. Furr, and Hiram Bowman.
