Casualty of WWII,Sidney was a Trooper in the 147th (10th Battalion, The Hampshire Regt.) Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. Service No:7963317.

He had attended Leeds College of Commerce and prior to enlistment, he worked as a cutter at a wholesale bespoke tailors.


His brother, Signalman Donald Bernard Benjamin aged 19/20 also died on service- 22nd November 1945. He served with the Royal Corps of Signals~Service No:14438298 and is interred at Leeds, Louis Street Polish Jewish Cemetery ~Grave Reference:Row R. Grave 115.
