Mrs. Jennie Matt, age 90, passed away at 320 N. Weaver Street where she had lived for a number of years. She had worked for numerous Gainesville families but was a longtime employee of the Coursey family.
She was born to John and Julia Oatts. She married Sammy Matt who preceeded her in death as did 2 of her sisters who lived in Gainesville, Lillian Stone and Corella Franklin.
She had 2 children: Iris Stanley Oatts and Lillian Oatts who married James Johnson.
Jennie was a member of the Saint James CME church. Reverend Nicholson presided at her funeral.
