Robert Paul Pendergrast

Robert, 62, beloved music teacher, husband, and father, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

Robert was born to Robert D. and Debora (VanGiffin) Pendergrast on November 29, 1947. He graduated from Wilson High School and the University of Puget Sound before marrying Pamela Ann Miller on September 15, 1973.

Robert began his 36 years teaching music in Florida, then in Idaho, and returned to Washington in 1979. He enjoyed watching the Seahawks and throwing the ball for his dogs.
Robert instructed music in Olympia School District and served as both the Orchestra Conductor and Musical Director for Capital Area Youth Symphony Association. He performed as Organist and Choral Director at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church since 1988.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela; and sons, Robert Thomas and David Michael.

Services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1515 Harrison Avenue, Olympia, WA. Arrangements are with Mills & Mills Funeral home. Please send donations to Capital Area Youth Symphony Association, P.O. Box 676, Olympia, WA 98507.
