Jerry L. Artis, 75, of Ironton, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton, with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Jerry L. Artis, 75, of Ironton, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord Aug. 6, 2010. He was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Lawrence County, the son of the late George Andrew Artis and Isabelle Rinderle Artis Keiser. After completing Ironton High School, Jerry entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, Ashland Oil, Collins Mining and Ironton Iron, where he retired n 1997. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his wife and very special great-grandson, Trey Artis.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Artis; stepfather, Lawrence Keiser and stepbrother, Sonny Keiser.

He is survived by his wife,
Barbara Rose "Nicki" Artis of Ironton;

one son,
Tom Artis of Ironton;

one grandson and his wife,
Drew and Alison Artis of Ironton;

one great-grandson,
Trey Artis of Ironton;

one brother and sister-in-law,
Phillip and Cathy Artis of Ironton;

sister-in-law, Janet Artis of Haverhill, Ohio;
and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating. Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery.
