CAMILLETTI SERVICES HELD

Services for Fredrick James CAMILLETTI, long-time resident of Routt County, were held at the Root Mortuary Chapel in Steamboat Springs at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 01, 1978. They were conducted by the the Rev. Harold Raines.

Interment was in the Steamboat Springs cemetery. Military Honors at graveside were conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4264.

Henry Zehner, accompanied on the organ by Aylifffe Zehner, Sang "Beyong The Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Pallbearers were James KLINE, Ramon JIMENEZ, Jess LEWIS, Pepi ARROYO, Carl APPEL and Bob DORR. Honorary pallbearers included Bill SHERROD, James THOMPSON, Keith STUDER, Pete STANKO, Bob CANNON and James BROOKSHIRE.

CAMILLETTI passed away in the Veterans' Hospital in Grand Junction on May 29, 1978. He was 32 years old at the time of his death.

Born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on August 08, 1945, he was the son of James CAMILLETTI of Steamboat Springs and Alice Iona More CAMILLETTI of Steamboat Springs.

He served with the United States Marines in Viet Nam. He was a heavy equipment operator for construction and ranching until his illness brought his retirement and hospitalization.

Surviving are his parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Janet CAMILLETTI of Hayden and Giacomo and Colleen CAMILLETTI of Steamboat Springs; two nieces, Lorrae Lynn and Darcy CAMILLETTI of Hayden; one nephew, Todd Eric CAMILLETTI of Steamboat Springs; and his grandmother, Brigita CAMILLETTI of Grand Junction.

The following words were spoken of the deceased during the services:

"He was raised in Hayden, attending Hayden schools until his senior year when he attended and graduated from the Steamboat Springs high school. He also attended Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction on a scholarship.

"At twenty-four years of age he entered the Marine Corps, saw service in Viet Nam and was discharged in November of 1971.

"He had those vigorous personal qualities characterizing the outdoorsman. He especially loved the life of the cowboy and lived out of that life style. He was competitive in nature and loved to ride horses and rope bulls. Fred was a familiar figure on the rodeo grounds.

"He was involved in construction work, having a flair for operating heavy machinery.

"Though he never married, he loved children, especially his two nieces and nephew. He enjoyed relating to them in play and conversations. The warmth of his character showed up in a quiet but genuine wit, his love of family and friends, his affection for dogs and horses."
