The funeral for Homer Samuel Manning, 93, formerly of 1431 Hillcrest Ave., Martinsville, who died Aug. 4, 2010, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville. The Rev. Charles Taylor and Pastor Susan Adkins will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services.
He was born Jan. 26, 1917, in Franklin County to Samuel Manning and Mary Brock Manning Wray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Stegall Manning.
He retired as a foreman from W.M. Bassett Furniture Co. and was a member of Clearview Mission.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances Manning Webster of Pinehurst, N.C.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
