∼Dec. 27, 2005 - Aug. 5, 2010
Katelyn "Katie" Olivia Connor, 4, of Normangee, died on Thursday, August 5, 2010, after a lengthy battle with Neuroblastoma (cancer). Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 9 at Madisonville Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 10 at the First Baptist Church of Madisonville, with burial in Plainview Cemetery near Normangee.
"Katie" was born December 27, 2005, to William and Christa Connor. She was her daddy's "turkey", her momma's "cuddle-bug", and to her sister, Laura Beth, she was everything. All who had the pleasure of knowing her, loved her. Her brilliant blue eyes, dazzling smile and contagious laughter could light up any room. Katie loved going to daycare at Grannie and Pawpaw's to play with her two best friends, Kate Hagaman and Zoey Blakely. She loved to dance and loved to learn. She amazed everyone with her vast vocabulary. Most of all, she loved attending Sunday School at Harmony Baptist Church in Normangee where she learned more about Jesus. Even at her young age, Katie believed in Jesus and knew that He loved her and saved her from her sins. She will be dearly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now free of pain, sickness, and sadness.
Survivors include her father; mother; sister; grandparents, Glenn and Marilyn Connor and Roger and Vickie Riley; great-grandparents, Steele and Louise Connor and Jim and Elizabeth Riley; her aunts and uncles, Ashley Riley, Amy and Keith Hahn and Karla and Ricky Medeiros; as well as numerous cousins, extended family, church family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the National Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 498, Kensington, MD 20895-0498 or go to www.candlelighters.org, or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803-2426.
