PFC Joseph Martin Jordan was a paratrooper who was killed in Normandy on D-Day.

Son of Halford Pierre Jordan and Louvia Mariah Thompson.
Born in Blountsville, Stoney Creek Township, Henry County, Indiana

Joseph Martin Jordan joined Phyllis Cleo Lanning in marriage
on 28 May 1942 in Delaware County, Indiana.

About one month later, he registered for the Draft, and about 7 weeks after that,
on 21 Aug 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
He served in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.

He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal.

He was survived by his widow, age 19, their son Joseph Theodore Jordan, age 14 months, and his parents.
