Jack E. Palmer was a Private in the Army during World War II. Jack resided in Passaic County, New Jersey before enlisting on November 24, 1943. At the time of enlistment, Jack was 18 years old, had 1 year of high school education and was single, without dependents. One year later, Jack was captured by the Nazis while serving in Germany, and was sent to an unstated camp where 249 other American POWs were held. Jack's capture was first reported to the International Committee of the Red Cross on September 12, 1944, and the last report was made on September 12, 1944. Ultimately, Jack died as a prisoner of war.
