MULBERRY-- Mrs. Ollie Florence Carter Eggen, 77, Lockwood, Mo., died Tuesday in the Cox Medical Center, Springfield, following a long illness.
Mrs. Eggen was born Oct. 17, 1897 at Asheville N.C., and came to Kansas with her parents in 1902. A former Mulberry, Ks resident, she was a graduate of Kansas State College of Pittsburg.
She was member of Daisy Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Arcadia; the Arcadia Study Club, the American Legion Auxilary and the United Methodist Women, Lockwood, Mo.
On Feb. 15, 1918 she married Collie Eggen. He died in 1963.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Velma) Jewell of Lockwood, Mrs. Hardy (Jessie) Dunn of Wichita, and Mrs. Jack (Mary Lee) Payne of Rich Hill; a son Carter Eggen of Haysville, Kan.; two brothers, Clarence Carter of Ashville, N.C., and Anson Carter of Gardena, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Homer Callahan, Mrs. Jane Webb and Mrs. Harrell Buchanan, all of Dallas., and Mrs. Ralph Kennedy of Norman, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Another son Marlin Eggen died in 1971.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mulberry United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Mccombs officiating. Burial will be in the Old Arcadia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Allison Funeral Home, Lockwood, and from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Montanye Funeral Home, Mulberry.
