He was the co-pilot of a plane that was within 1 hour of their destination with the remains of 38 war POW's. They were never heard from again. Though his marker sets in Manila, his remains, and those of the plane and is precious cargo, were never located. His Widow would live almost a half a century never knowing what happened to her beloved husband. He and Venus Aurora Heminway were married in Covelo, California on July 14, 1930.
