After 6 wks of training at the Great Lakes,Il Naval Training Station,he came home for a visit in November on his way to assingment to a warship in San Diego,Ca(he informed his parents that he had gained 21 pounds in his 6 weeks he had been in the Navy).His parents recieved their last letter from him in Aug,1942..He was 17..
