Another Macon youth has given his life in defense of his country.

Latest to make the supreme sacrifice is Thomas Harold Hart, 18, who lost his life when the aircraft carrier Lexington went down in the battle of the Coral Sea.

Hart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Hart, 114 Bowden Street, were notified of their son's death this morning in a telegram from the navy department.

LOSS OF the Lexington was revealed yesterday by the navy department.

The message to Hart's parents gave no details as to how he was killed in the disaster, but said his body had been recovered and was buried for the duration near the scene of the battle.

Joe Hart, 21, also was aboard the Lexington. He came through the sinking unscathed and only a few days ago notified his family of his safe return to this country.

Due to war-time regulations, Joe Hart was unable to tell his parents of his brother's death in the message.

THOMAS H. HART joined the navy about a year ago. He attended school at Lanier and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Memorial services for the young hero will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Tabernacle Church, the Rev. A.C. Baker, pastor, announced Hart is the third member of the church who has lost his life since outbreak of the war.

In addition to his parents and brother, Hart is survived by one sister.
