Oral served as a Staff Sergeant, 3rd Pursuit Squadron, 24th Pursuit Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Sandoval County, New Mexico prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 24, 1939 prior to the war. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

He became a POW of the Japanese Army in the "Fall Of The Philippines" in April-May, 1942.

Oral "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army at POW Camp 1, Cabanatuan 1-2-3, Nueva Province, Luzon, Philippines 15-121 during the war.

He was awarded the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.

His remains were not recovered.
