Word was received here early this morning of the death of John Abshire, 70 years old, West Vine street, a veteran employe of the Wabash railroad, at the Wabash hospital at Decatur. Mr. Abshire, who has been for more than sixteen years a resident of Springfield, died at 10 o'clock last night from infection of the foot. Mr. Abshire is known to have a son in Divernon and another in the west. He has been in the hospital for several weeks.
