MRS. DORIS PAULINE "POLLY" NECESSARY, age 85, of Atlanta, Ga., died at her home on Tuesday, June 3, 2003. Polly was an extraordinary individual who touched the lives of those around her. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her family, her church and the community in which she lived. Her husband Robert H. Necessary preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Nancy (Lawrence) Gravely of Louisville, Ky., Sally Hanshaw of Atlanta, Ga., Polly (Steve) Hines of Holly Springs, Ga., and Betty (Bill) Roberts of Roswell, Ga.; two sons, Robert (Pattie) Necessary of Naples, Fla., and James Necessary of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Dorothy Samuels of Montgomery, Ala., and Betty Robinson of El Paso, Texas; ten grandchildren, Marc Gravely, Melissa Gravely, Jennifer Gravely, Trisha Necessary, Rustin Necessary, Courtney Hines, Michelle McComas, Richard Hanshaw, Robert Hanshaw, Harrison Roberts and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2003, in the Historic Sanctuary of the Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell, Ga., with the Rev. Richard Hill officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Fireside Room to celebrate her life. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. in Huntington, W.Va., on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Woodmere Memorial Park, with the Rev. Gray Hampton officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in her honor to the Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell, Ga., 30075 or to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, Ga., 30319.
