The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Ray Moore and David Sealy officiating. Burial will be at the Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Conestee, S.C., Mr. Hampton was the son of Nora Hampton of Rock Hill, and the late James G. Hampton. He was retired from the Southern Railway as a locomotive engineer. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Brothterhood of Locomotive Engineers. He attended schools of Chester County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the S.C. National Guard.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, his son, three daughters, his brother, five sisters, and five granddaughters.
