Sterling P. Clark, Jr. was born in Ft.Worth TX in 1903 and resided there for most of his life. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1927 and in 1935 he married Helen Mary Bamber.They had two children, Gretchen and Sterling P. Clark III. Sterling worked for the Pacific Finance Corp. and in 1940 was transferred to San Antonio. On 29 Aug 1941, while in Robstown TX on a business trip, Sterling suffered a massive heart attack. Helen Clark, at her San Antonio home, flew to his bedside where he died at midnight at a Corpus Christy hospital.
