George Squires, 83, a pioneer resident of the Ojibwa community, passed away at the Hayward Hospital on Tuesday.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1879, at Monroe and came to Ojibwa in 1920.

Survivors are his brother, Frank, of Decatur, Nebraska; five nephews, Vernon of Rockford; Merrill of Kenosha; Floyd of Madison; Dee of Milwaukee; and Jerry of Ojibwa; two nieces, Mrs. Alma Jesperson of Chicago and Effie Downs of Madison.

George Squires, 83, resident of Ojibwa, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1963.

Mr. Squires was born Oct. 10, 1880 at Monroe. He resided at Blue Mound for many years, and was engaged in farming. For the past 40 years he had made his home in Ojibwa.

Surviving are a brother, Frank of Decatur, Neb; five nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Winter Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Schwab officiating. Interment was in the Winter Cemetery.

The Koerpel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
