George J. Denker
George John Denker, 67, Pomona, formerly of Solomon, died Thursday at an Ottawa hospital where he had been a patient for several days. Mrs. Alvin Strunk, Abilene, is a sister-in-law.
He was born Aug. 23, 1906, in Steinauer, Neb. On April 20, 1933, he married Marie W. Shephard in Salina, and the family lived in Solomon until 1943, when they moved to Pomona.
He had been employed by the Franklin County road maintenance department for 12 years, and had been an employee at Vassar State Park for the past three years.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; two son, Dean Denker and Terry E. Denker, both of Pomona; two sisters, Mrs.Mary Kraft and Mrs. Dorothy Eiselein, and a brother, Louis W. Denker, all of Ottawa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
