In addition to being a wife and mother, Nell worked as a seamstress after WWII until she retired at the age of 62. She participated in many community causes and organizations. She was a Christian, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was the first woman deaconess of that church.
Nell was very involved with her family, her children and grandchildren. She had an incredible memory and was an unbelievable conversationist. She loved talking to everyone and showed a genuine interest in their life.
