CHARLES E. AUMENT Charles E. Aument, 86, of 123 Prospect Road, Salunga, died of natural causes after a long illness on Friday May 11, 2007 at his residence.
Born in East Hempfield Twp., he was the son of the late Clayton and Elizabeth (Young) Aument. He was the husband of Mary (Brenner) Aument to whom he was married 65 years. He was the owner of the former Charles E. Aument garage in Salunga, was employed by SICO of Mount Joy for 13 years, and was employed by the Manheim Auto Auction of Manheim as a driver. He was a member of Chiques United Methodist Church of Mount Joy, where he was a former Sunday School teacher, trustee, and stewardship committee member. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, serving with the 405th Fighter Squadron and was a recipient of 5 bronze stars; he also served with the Air force Reserves until 1961. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 5752 and the American Legion, Walter S. Ebersole Post 185, both of Mount Joy. Charles was also a charter member of the "Bucktail Hunting Club"
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Donald C. husband of Patty (Reed) Aument of Lancaster; a daughter, Pastor JoAnn wife of Harold Enders of Lancaster; 3 grandchildren, Deborah wife of John Albright, Harold Jr. husband of Beth Enders, Dr. Belinda wife of Dr. Christopher Collins; 4 great-grandchildren Ryan, Cory and Dane Albright, & Christina Enders; 1 great-great grandson Nicholas Albright; a brother Phares husband of Kathryn Aument; and a sister Loretta Kelly, both of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a sister Leta Carter and three brothers, Clayton, John and James Aument.
