Glee F. Schiefer Stover Bane

NORMAL - Glee Stover Bane, 94, of Normal died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 7, 2009) at Heritage Manor, Normal.
Her funeral will be at noon Monday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born March 20, 1915, in Lexington, a daughter of Benjamin Schiefer and Grace Dawson. She married Judson W. Stover in 1938. He died in 1958. She married Arlo E. Bane in 1962. He died in 1990.
She is survived by a son, Judson B. (Betty) Stover, Towanda; a daughter, Virginia Baker, Flanagan; two stepchildren, Dr. Arlo Greg (Helen) Bane, LeRoy, and Dr. Betsy Bane, Chesterfield, Mo.; six grandchildren, Judson D. (Nelle) Stover, Aaron (Stephanie) Stover, Sara Standish, Becky (Ben) Smith, Rogan Baker and Marco Baker; two step grandchildren, Dr. Robert (Amy) Bane and Marg (Chris) Bargman; five great-grandchildren, Judson and Emma Stover, Brooke and Brenna Stover, and Jayden Standish; six step great-grandchildren, Deborah, Michael, Tiffany, Nicholas, Thomas and Laura Bane; and a sister, Megan (Ken) Mrowiec, Park Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Robert Bane; one brother, Ben Schiefer; and one sister, Catherine Bourgerie.
Glee grew up in Maywood and was a graduate of Towanda High School. She attended Metropolitan Business School and worked at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. She was a member of Home Extension in Towanda and Lexington, and was a member of Thursday Afternoon Bridge Club and Longfellow Club. She volunteered at Mennonite Hospital.
She loved traveling, stylish and unusual clothing, eating out, and being with family. She was always concerned about others, loved life and she was a hoot.
